That’s my room, in 1986, the day I was forced into organizing my “pig pen.”

Amanda McDaniel

My Mom, who is the queen of organization, had had enough. I was 10 years old, and I remember getting handed a trash bag and her saying, “If you don’t clean it, I will.” That was all the motivation I needed.

What I found was something deeply rooted within me, some kind of organization gene trying to emerge! I stepped back and observed the calm, the order, the beauty of my little 1980’s room. I was so proud that I took a picture…on film!  An organizer was born that day and I’m pretty sure my Mom shed a tear of joy.  Thank you Mom!

I share this real story to show we are all real people. Never be embarrassed about your space, there is no judgment here.

Know what overwhelms you, excites me! Like, “up at night excited-to-get-started” kind of excitement! Seeing your space or project fills my heart with joy…because I get to help you take that photo of your space, and post it proudly for all to see.

Today is the day, let’s get started!
